[E-Type] Series II 'square' fan motor

John,
When one of mine shorted out last Fall, I looked for a local rebuilder with
No Joy. Ended up getting 2 new ones from BAUSA for about $185 each a year
ago, after briefly considering the round ones w/adapter bracket. (I’m still
enjoying the concours circuit.) Otherwise, I’ve not heard of modern
substitutes.

Subject: [E-Type] Series II ‘square’ fan motor

One of my series II fan motors has shorted out. I am looking to replace it
or
rebuild it.
I recall the discussion on the list about a simple low cost alternative
electric motor to replace the motor used in the heator blower. I got one
and
it works great. Has anyone found a similar modern replacement motor for
the
cooling fans?? TIA

John Duncan

I had the same experience and had my “square” motors rebuilt locally. They
worked but I was not satisfied with the RPM’s they produced so I invested in the
adapters and mounted the round motors from the Series III cars. They have much
higher RPM’s and I am very satisfied. Unless you are in the Champion division of
the Concour, I recommed this route.
