[E-Type] STAINLESS HEATER RETURN PIPE - 69 S2

I’m still trying to find one of these in stainless steel,
with the T coming off near the water pump for the intake
manifold connection. This is the pipe running under the
intake manifold from the bulkhead to the water pump.

I know Dick Vandermeyden at one time offered the one with
the tee connection - perhaps someone has one from his estate
inventory?

I have fabricated one from copper, and while it’s quite
attractive I’d prefer to have a stainless version. I don’t
have stainless (or any) welding skills.

Thanks–

I think they’re supposed to be black aren’t they Tom? If so, just paint the copper, like the original?Sent from my iPhone

Tom,
The Dick Vandermeyden estate Jaguar parts have been caught
up in a building code violation issue so they are no longer
accessible to the estate nor those of us that were helping
Hanneh sell Dick’s collection. It’s a sad situation that
would take a long time to explain but they are stuck in an
inaccessible store room for the time being. I recall
seeing at least one of the water return pipes in stainless
in the inventory but I think it was for a Series 1 type
install (no tee fitting). Try John Farrell E-Type Parts
Online.

I would be surprised if Welsh didn’t have what you’re
looking for.–

Well, then this will surprise you… Welsh doesn’t have it
in stainless, nor do any of the others.
John Farrell’s got it in 4130 tubing, which may be the best
choice. It will probably last longer than me!–

I bought one for my '69 from John Farrell. Worked great. I
believe I also ordered the hanger or two that helps support
it. https://etypeparts.myshopify.com/products/c28233

Since it’s a part that can be easily replaced, at least
compared to the pipes that go through the bulkhead, I
wouldn’t be overly concerned about using one that isn’t
stainless steel. As you point out the John Farrell part
will probably outlast you,… and your heirs.–

Les is right. Paint it black and it will look aluminum. Can’t

I believe you’re talking about the stainless set of pipes
that run behind the bulkhead within the interior. I’m
referring to the long ‘‘heater return pipe’’ that runs under
the intake manifold between the bulkhead and the water pump.
All those currently available are steel - not stainless steel.–
