[E-Type] SU throttle bracket

I’ve recently discovered a problem with my throttle return spring
brackets. For my 4.2 Ser 1, the parts book shows a triangular
bracket for the rear carb and 2 different ‘‘y’’ brackets for the
others. My ‘‘y’’ brackets are virtually identical and the middle one
has been wearing into the frame member. Is there a major difference
between the proper brackets or would just bending my middle bracket
to obtain some clearance be proper?
TIA

Joe,
The rear one is indeed a different triangular piece, the other two are
the same piece except bent in different directions. The middle one
goes outside the frame and the front one goes inside. I bought a new
one several years ago and received one that was not bent. So
basically its a bend to fit application.

As a side thought tired motor mounts could cause the bracket (engine)
to be in a position it should not normally be in so you might want to
at least consider taking a look at those.

Thanks, Paul
I noticed the problem when I replaced the motor mounts. Bending the
bracket is what I’ll do. Strange, tho, that they have different
part numbers if they come unbent.

While my SU’s are fitted to a Series II:

I actually have three different brackets.
One triangular and two different '‘Y’'s .
Each is, so positioned as to fall directly below the spring
attachment lever and still clear obstructions…

Joe,
I bet if you got an OEM one they’d be pre bent  This supplier, my
supplier of choice Terry’s, obviously figured out they were the same
and could stock one part. As long as it wasn’t bent yet.
