[E-Type] Which seat goes where?

Listers:

I’ve just been taking the seats from the 3.8l FHC apart
getting ready to
finally paint them and recover them…4 years after I got
the interior
kit…I’m slow…sometimes really slow

Anyway, now that they are down to bare sheet metal, I’ve
noticed that
they are “handed”, as the left side of one, and the right
side
of the other have been banged in a bit, “modified” as it
were so
that they are a bit straighter. Was this done to clear the
inner
rocker panels, or to clear the transmission/centre console ?
Me thinks it was done to clear the centre console, but I’d
like
to hear others’ views.

…as I recall, they are different on the inside to fit around the
gear shifter.
LLoyd …ahhh, those were the good old days, the seats are an easy
and fun job that can be done inside the house…
