[E-Type] Windscreen washer jets removal

I have decided to change the colour of my S1.5 2+2, once I’ve
finished the back wings and boot floor, I’ve heard its quite
involved to remove the washer jets, I’d really rather not dismantle
the dash, and hints on an easier method of removing them?

Cheers.
Pete.–

Pete,

The jets are held by wing nuts on the underside. IF your
hands are small you can reach through the hole in the center
of the fuse blocks , pull off the hose, and unscrew the wing
nuts.

If you are going to repaint then it work to disassemble the
wiper arms from underneath because you can then push the
wiper spindles down and out of way making it easier to sand,
etc.

You may want to remove the windshield too.

The dash top is simple - two 5/16’ bolts on the outer edges,
two in the center on each side of the fuse blocks, back and
disconnect the defroster hoses and the bottom and pull the
whole thing back and up.

I do it routinely work on wiring, instruments and so on-
takes about 15 minutes which you save many times over making
other tasks easier.–

Pete - Adding to Gary’s comments; try Ray Livingston’s
suggestion of drilling out and taping a plastic/nylon wing
nut slightly smaller than the threads on the stem of the nozzle.
