Early 3.8 Short Block parts For Sale $125.00

Description: For sale is a complete bare 3.8 block for a MkX. Block, crank, steel sump and a Xj6 oil sump. The engine is from an early 3.8 sedan. I can bolted the crank and sump back together for shipping. The rods and other hardware is not torqued. I bought this block and it had been boiled and honed at a machine shop. Standard bore and also the crank is std/std. I have over $500.00 in this block alone, but as usual I won’t even get close to break even.

Hi Since bramd new 3.8 blocks as per original are selling for 14K Pounds English I t hink your price is unusually generous. If you liverd in Australia it would be mine in a flash!

Peter

On this side of the pond these are generally worthless. I’ve scrapped a sad amount of excess engines and parts. If someone needs this it’s a reasonable price if not, I’ll keep it.

That’s really a shame, because, as you know, you can’t buy these new at NAPA, anymore… :-)

Pete is correct.

The 3.8 engine/block are more sought after than the others over here, presumably for E-types, but also MK2 “upgrades”

A fellow I know sold one quickly for $A1000 (US600)

Another set of pictures… block has crank bolted in and sump installed.
