Seller has give a thorough description and it might be that this engine is toast. What are your thoughts. Listen to the video. I am not sure if the video is before or after all or their repair work:

The ad’s essentially meaningless: unless we saw the exact engine, pictured running, it’s a pig in a poke.
EDIT: Ill give a small pass, here: it doesn’t sound much beyond loose valve train noises, but a video is hardly a proper diagnostic.

Did the one in the video sound bad? My read indicates they did work after this point. I can a bit of piston slap on a cold engine which soon goes away.

I didnt listen, or read the ad, but have found from dismantling '70s and earlier Jag I6 engines,
that in all cases the bore was worn beyond spec.
If it cannot be proven the engine has been bored and new pistons fitted, or is very low mileage, I would bear that in mind
