Replaced dead battery and shortly thereafter check engine code ff24 appeared. What solutions are available to resolve this problem.

Welcome Patricia. Your info indicates 1994 convertible but no indication of which engine. Folks on here will need that piece of info

FF24 is a code specific to the ignition amp for the AJ6 engine. Quick digging through the archives:

I have the same car, and the 5 vol Factory shop manual.
As you said, its Ignition-related.
P18.1-8 lists ff24 as ‘Ignition drive’
Function: ‘Looks for ECU output to ignition amplifier module’
There - isn’t that clear now !!
In pracice, I’ve had several of these over the years, usually
related to low battery voltage when I start …

First thank you for responding to my concerns. After requesting assistance I realized that the check engine code was FF44 and not FF24. Information such as battery replacement detailing the check engine code on my 1994 XJS convertible by is correct.

She is 6 cylinder 2+2. Thank you for advising me to be more specific.
