FHC rear door hinge covers

What is the correct finish for the inside of the rear door hinge covers on a FHC? Are they painted black or covered in vinyl?

Thanks

Covered in vinyl
with edging as on the stick shift opening.

Just re-read post, inside is painted black.

Thanks Glenn, that makes it a lot easier. A PO had tried to cover the insides in vinyl and it looks terrible.

On the ones I removed form a '67 FHC there was a little vinyl on the inside but only the first 1" or so…

You could try black flocking: covers a host of horrors.

had mine covered by Muncie, very reasonable with no pain. insides are black paint with some adhesive over spray.

The entire inside (and outside) of the ones for my '64 were covered in moquette (definitely original). Jaguar apparently changed the coverage when they changed over to vinyl trim. I flocked them to color match the rest of the moquette trim in the boot. This required a mix/blend of three different shades of flock . Also had to weld some holes closed in the shells. PITA but it blends nicely with the fabric in the kit. I also reflocked the “pockets” in the side panels.
