Does anyone have a source to help me find the original color of my 1963 Jaguar XKE Roadster? The serial number is 879002. I do not want to go through the Jaguar Heritage paperwork at this time. The car is red at this time, but other colors appear as I get farther into the restoration. Thanks for your help.
Pull down the dash panel. What colour do you see?
No need to go through any paperwork, email the JDHT with your numbers and they will tell you.

Not sure why you don’t want to go through the JHT paperwork, it will give you your answers and more for a small fee. Beyond that, “usually” a peak behind the instrument panel will expose the original color as its rarely painted back there.

That is what I bought about 5 years ago and have slowly restored it back to original from an engineer who wanted a Jetson Mobile. Thanks to Monocoque Metalworks and a local talented young fellow, I was able to get the proper metal
pieces to bring this car back to life.
