should have taken pics when pulling the pumps . . but. so these two nipples that are on the body, L shaped one at top of breaker cap and other one hiding around back in picture that’s just above the diaphragm. do they remain open or are they connected to something?
The only things under the cap are the electrics so I can’t see any reason for them to be connected to anything, I believe they are just ents.
Yes I agree. Although in the parts manual Jaguar calls them otolaryngologists. 
Yep. The one around the back vents the back of the diaphragm - otherwise the pump would be fighting a partial vacuum every stroke. Put finger over when they get going.
