Fuel return line to tank

Hello
I have a 1977 XJC running the late series 2 tanks with submersed fuel pumps (fuel sender accessed behind rail light) I’m just wondering what people have done in regards to fitting return lines to the tank for a fuel injected motor. Thanks

Have you removed one of the tanks? If not you might as well, since you will need to figure out if there a fitting that is suitable for plumbing in a return line - or brazing a new fitting to return fuel to the top of the tanks.

The Jaguar external pump fuel tanks I have seen with a return fuel fitting along the bottom of the tank all had internal piping that brought the return fuel to the top middle of the tank.

Alternatively you may want to add a return fitting lug into the sending unit - this can be done without removing the fuel tanks. If you do this remember to add an extension pipe that brings the return fuel to a high middle point inside the tank.
