Fuel tank bottom plug leak

Did you use a stock XK fuel tank?
My car was heavily modified in the 1970’s (presumably), and bought by my dad in 2000… in the interim the car was stored, and the previous owner died, leaving us with virtually no documentation of what was done and why.

I didn’t even realize it had a non-standard tank until I started trying to get the plug out…

A '61 E-type was cannibalized for ours…

Hello Brandon.
No I had some alu tanks made , one large one small, that fitted in the spare wheel space.
I think it would have been possible to fitt the original tank with a bit of fetteling…
Does the E IRS on youp XK retain the V mounts etc?
BTW I sold LVC in84 and it was rebuilt to standard spec mid 90s.

Interesting. a custom tank is another possibility, though if I come to that, I would probably just take current tank to somewhere locally and have it repaired (section removed, new welded in, lined etc)

Mine has the entire E unit swapped in including the “taco shell” but in this case, the taco shell was welded to the frame.
