Fw: [xj-s] Water from Rear Window how to change

Did any of us removed the rear window by his self (and succed to put it
back !)
?

Yes I changed both front and rear windowseals by myself a couple of years
ago.Had to take out the headliner etc which needed recovering anyway. Mine
were really badly dry rotted. Used plenty of liquid soap to aid putting the
windows back in. Front and rear seals as far as I can remember about
$100 -$200. Never could get the rear chrome trim to go back on though.
By the way, pulling into traffic a little while ago I floored the Jag ( to
make the gap) . When I took my foot off the throttle nothing happened !! I
ended up across the road, through a kind of gravel trap and down a grass
bank before I could switch the ignition off (I tried putting on the brakes
but just smoked the rear tires ). No damage to the car , self esteem took a
beating. The throttle pushrod had caught the AC hose from the fuel-cooler to
the cabin and with the torque of the engine was holding it open .
Thought I’d let you guys know as you might want to check the clearance on
yours.

And YOU might want to check the condition of your left-hand motor
mount.
