Gearbox numbers , whats it out of?

Have a old gearbox in the shed , anyone know what its out of
Numbers are
GBN 11650 CR , has a laycock overdrive on the back of it !

Mark 1 or Mark 2. A rather low number so more likely Mark 1 perhaps. The N indicates the Laycock DeNormanville overdrive option. The CR indicates close ratio gears which was another option.

Thanks for that Rob , was thinking about bolting it on to the back of a XJ6 3.4 Engine , to fit in my MK2, over the winter !

My 1958 MK1 had GBN 19151 CR, so yours would be around 7500 cars before
that. The stick comes out of the box cover itself rather than being offset
towards the rear. That may be a problem for the MK2 console, since there
was no console in the MK1.
