Headliner side board fastener quest

Redoing the headliner in a XJ6 Series 1 including the side, front, and rear boards. A half-round foam piece is attached to the side panels with fasteners that I can’t seem to locate anywhere.

They look a little like the drawing on the right: a rectangular steel head with two prongs on either side. The prongs poke through the two upholstery pieces and are then bent over to hold everything in place.

I could also use stiff button-like prong fasteners (like drawing on the left) but can only locate the brass ones that are not strong enough to hold the upholstery pieces.

Does anyone know what these are called? Any source? Or other substitutes?

KrissMotors,
I just looked in my hard copy of the Series I XJ6 Parts Catalogue, (RTC9106 of July 1974) and found something that might be what you are looking for. On page 26 44 it show a part near the headliner that could be it, but it doesn’t look exactly like your drawing. The part number is BD18068. I am not certain that is your part, but it is the closest thing that I can find in this Parts Catalogue.

I searched for “Jaguar BD18068” on eBay and found some sellers offering that part. It may be what you need, but maybe not. I don’t have a Series I XJ6 so searching the Parts Catalogue is the best that I can do for you.

Paul

Unfortunately, that part BD18068 is a door clip, not what I’m looking for.

I found that SNG Barratt also carries them: https://www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/English/parts/0e3e3e84-b52b-49d4-946f-f01d91517670
