I’m currently restoring a ‘62 Etype and would like to use as many of the original components as possible. I’m on the heater control valve now I’m planning to have the original plated and reassemble. I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for the rubber diaphragm inside?
The new ones are, as I recall, identical to the old, so you can use the diaphragm out of a new one. You may find, when you get the original valve apart that there will be corrosion on the pot metal part where it seals, so you may have to replace the valve anyway.
