Heater is not heating properly

On my 93 xj40 I am having a heating…or lack of issue.
I have heat but not much. When I feel the lines going into the heater core, one is hot and one is warm. I have undone them and blown out the core and it seems to flow fine! Not sure what the issue would be here. Would it be possible to be this issue if I had the hoses hooked up and properly meaning reversed? Or something else?

When you say ‘lack of heat’ is temperature or air flow you are meaning?
If its temp then is the dash gauge reading on the first upright of the N?
If not then check the thermostat.
If its air flow then you need to check that both blowers are working.
In the foot wells there are the fuses, locate the fuse for each blower and pull one and check if the flow stays the same or diminishes.
They work against each other to force the air through the heater matrix, and both need to work for the air to exit the vents.
A third option is the blend flaps are tuck in position, do you hear the serv motors working when you change heat settings?
This can be performed with the engine not running.
I don’t know that you can reverse the hoses, its a while since I had my ‘40
