Help identifying broken cable on V-12 1989 XJS

Can anyone tell me what braided cable is to?

Can’t really see too well. Could it be the cruise control cable?

Scott,
I suppose that could be the cable from the accelerator pedal to the cruise control actuator. The cruise control actuator and cable in my wife’s 1990 XJ-S convertible are circled in yellow in the attached picture.
Does your cruise control work?
