How do the output shafts seal? ('71 S3)

Hete are some pictures and the assembly process of my Salisbury diff output shafts with the two tapered roller bearings.

Output shaft bearings [DSC_0105] [DSC_0110] [DSC_0109] [DSC_0111] [DSC_0113] [DSC_0116] [DSC_0117] [DSC_0121] [DSC_0122] So far so good, bearings went in fine but having trouble with the seal (JLM1264)… First try, the seal deformed and it’s ruined. Any special tricks that I don’t know ? The difference of the seal OD (68.8mm) and the case diameter (67.85mm) is about 1mm, and if it doesn’t go straight in from the beginning the seal is destroyed in the process (I don’t have a …
