My X type is now 11 years old and has developed very noisy radiator cooling fan bearings - is there any way I can lubricate them?
Unsure as to whether they are a serviceable item. May have to source a replacement.
The factory service manual does not seem to mention anything about servicing the fan motors, only to replace them if they are not working.
Do not work in that area if the motor is hot. The fans can come on by themselves even if the ignition is off.

As a desperation move, I have drilled into the endplate of sealed bearings, and used a hypodermic needle to get lube inside them.
