How do I pull out the rear seat on my '68 Jag XKE 1.5 to access the rear brakes to bleed the lines?
You don’t.
You need to jack the car up and then remove the front shocks from wither side on the IRS.
Hi…you obviously have a 2+2 becaus you have rear seats…the top squab just pushes back to the rear…lift out the seat base…two screws hold the lower rear squab in place…later 2+2 have 2 access panels for brakes…not sure if the S1.5 has the same but will only take a few minutes to check
Yes, I can confirm that since I have a ‘68 2+2 and recently used the panels to gain access to the front bolt of the shock/spring assemblies. Quite convenient, actually. You can bleed the brakes from there.
Good luck,

PS, you will to remove the seatbelt bolts, as well, to get the back seat out BTW.

Thanks for the tip, Robin, but I do not see a pen icon anywhere. Since were on the subject, is there a user guide of some sort for this site?
Thanks,

Thanks again, Robin. I simply don’t have that pen icon on my screen. I will read the tips and user guides when I have the time.

I think that’s because you are still granted the rights of a “Basic User”. Apparently you don’t have the ability to edit your own posts until you reach “Normal” status.
