How to restore my MKII Jaguar

OK so that title may be a little misleading BUT I like to get opinions I may ignore them but as I am at a ripe old age I KNOW you’re never to old to learn.
My MKII is currently in the body shop and although I have restored more cars than I care to remember I would like to get your thoughts.
I live in Arizona USA and of course it’s ferkin hot so A/C will be installed, I also will be putting in a 5 speed Tremec transmission, I have an upgraded for the brakes (new booster, location to be decided), back to the A/C apparently the battery has to be located in the boot.
I will be getting the seats trimmed by BAS in CA.I will do the rest.

Here is my question on the plan of attack.

Replacing ALL wiring harnesses
replacing all brake lines
replacing all fuel lines
install A/C stuff
Install engine
Install interior
Install chrome and exterior bits

the question

What do you think is the best order to do this ??

Tanks

Gary

About the same as you have written down in your post I would think.

I agree with Robin, with one all addition; put installing the wiper mechanisms before anything else.
There are numerous posts ( not quite in jest ) that Jaguar started with the wiper wheelboxes and then built the body around them.

That’s a good point I will do the wiper stuff first.

Couple of things you may need to consider:

  1. Headliner goes under rear window rubber, so headliner first.
  2. Headliner finishing wood screws are under door rubber seals, so wood first.
  3. Some of the door rubber seals (front edge) are much easier to put before doors, so seals first.
  4. Everything in engine bay is much easier without hood, so hood last.
Enjoy! (It’s rewarding to see the progress)

Yes they are all good points and I will certainly be giving the install a lot of thought.
