In-tank fuel pump

Trying to correct an intermittent vapor lock problem (1965 Mk2 with 4.3 Chevy Vortec engine).
Am running fuel injection, high pressure pump mounted in the same position as the original.
Anyone tried converting to an in-tank set-up using an aftermarket or re-purposed unit? I know of a one kit which is rather expensive and has more features than I need.
Thanks for any replies.

No direct experience as to your conversion and the issue.

But, my LT1 in 83 XJ6 does just fine with the Jaguar pump in the boot. But, it was one FI system to another. Although it’s GM donor car enjoyed a pump and fuel level sensor in the tank.

Adapting it from a horizontal position to a vertical install probably
impractical if even possible.

Were I faced with the issue, I’d look into the fuel delivery line and return line as to proximity of heat. Exhaust would be my first place to look.

Carl-
Thanks for the reply.
Just sold a Series 2 XJC with LT 1 running a high pressure pump in the boot. It worked fine with no problems.
My MK 2 vapor locks on really hot (90 deg plus) days after extended highway driving.
I have isolated the fuel lines and ventilated the pump boot location.
I think the in-tank pump will solve the problem.
Thanks again.
