I went to start my car today after sitting for several weels…it turned over a bit slow but acceptably and started up after 8 sec or so…I let it run to heat it up for about 5 min and noticed that the brake lights were on…I have a mechanical SW that has worked well for years…gave it a few pedal pulses and pushed the sw itself… lights stayed on…I shut the engine down to ponder and noticed the fan was running ( it normally shuts off w/key off)…more ponder
Looked up elect skematic ,seems both work off # 6 fuse …hmm…Tried turn signal w/ key on and it was very slow…noticed clock was off by several hrs…hmm…Ive had low batteries before but none of these symptoms…Anyway decided to charge battery which solved all the issues…but why all these odd abnormalities??? a4 relay??
When things are on that should be off I suspect a poor ground (with components ‘finding’ a ground through other components and in doing so powering them).
But that does not account for how charging the battery resolved the problem.
