Can anyone walk me through removal of the interior wood for the passenger airbag cover. Finished all other pieces except this one 1996 XJS convertible
When the airbag deploys it sends the veneer out-and-up with a tether attached to break the the wind screen.
The veneer panel is held in place by clips that can be ‘popped-loose’ with plastic or wooden ‘prybars’.
The webbed tethering can be removed at one end or the other but I don’t remember which. We did send these panels to Madera Concepts when I worked at the dealer years ago and I removed all the panels as a set when they needed to be refinished under Jaguar warranty.
The panel will pop loose!!!
