Intermittent screen washers

1993 Sovereign silverfrost RHD. Annoying problem solved. Intermittent screen wash (wipers work) traced to faulty quad relay DBC 10005. Relay is located under bonnet RHS radiator. Relay is easily repairable with soldering iron as the problem is cracked/dry joints on the internal printed circuit board.
Unclip relay from car, detach from multi pin plug. open up relay to expose four relays mounted on the circuit board. Relay 2 is for the windscreen washers; re-solder the joints for this relay on the printed circuit board. Reassemble. Takes half an hour and no parts cost.

Hello!
Thanks for the solution. I have the same problem that you had. Although I went through all of those relay modules with my soldering iron but I must have missed this one. For some reasons the '93-'94 MY cars have these cracked solder join problems. But luckily easy and cheap to fix.

Yes, I have also had DBC 1009 breakdown for side light relay and A/C + radio.
Glad to help another Jaglover! Best regards Derek, Perth Au.
