[jag-news-discussion] TV Commercials--really bad

Is it just me, or do the new TV commercials showing the 3 cars
running around look like a Japaneese car ad from the 1980’'s. Or do
these cars just look like Japaneese cars? I can not tell the
difference any more…all cars look like Japaneese cars. Only
the BMW’s still stand out.–

They’re certainly not as distinctive as the classics like
your '48, but the new XJ and XK are still beautiful and
unique. The XF on the other hand…well yeah, IMHO it looks
pretty generic and Japanese. I read an article recently
comparing the new Infinity M35/53 sedan to the XF and they
said the Infinity looks more sleek and Jag-like than the
Jag.

Anyways, I’m just glad to see Jag putting out more commercials, and getting there two beautiful cars and the XF
out there for the world to see.

seems like jaguar has had very few tv commercials over the
last ten years and probably more, especially compared to
bmw, ithink that audi and mercedes do a little less ads
that bmw. jag may be trying to match their air time to a
lower volume car sales? the xj is just not a mass market
car at this time, we have a 2004x350 from new, its a very
good car. the 3 series bmw and the a3 move people into the
brand, like the x type never did or could, xtype to xj aint
gonna happen…
we were at a unveil of the new xf and xj all wheel drive
models , fyi , the xj awd comes with their new v6
supercharged engine. the cars are great and impressive,
the sales force not, I really dont think that they have any
ideas how to sell these cars at this dealership, oh , i
guess the cars are so good they sell themselves, not really
many people at the unveil, wonder why??–

I agree on the modern shape that JAGS are using they dont stand out
anymore from the crowd Those awful plastic looking chrome
headlights and led side lights which it appears the way things are
going with all makes, not just JAGS. At least on the road with my
series 3 I know im not going to see another one If I did it would
be very rare in this area (Wales) OK I know my series 3 is outdated
in many ways but what a feeling you get driving it .yes I’ve been in
a modern jag .Den–
