I have a Series 3 XJ6 with rust spots around the windscreen. It’s a rust free car except for these few minor areas with a larger one in the lower left corner. The car is in central Iowa and I can’t find anyone nearby, experienced or not, willing to make the repairs. Does anyone know of a reputable shop that could help me - from Chicago to Omaha, Minneapolis to St. Louis?

I second David. I’m lucky and live close by too. It’s nice he’s even willing to work on my car which is cosmetically a basket case compared to most of their clients.
