Judging the needles

Hi,

while overhauling the four Zenith Stromberg carburettors of my '72 S3 I found out that the jets are included in the Burlen rebuild kit, but the needles are not.
Do I have to replace the needles in any case (due to age/usage) or are the needles reused? Can I somehow judge (measure) whether the needles need replacing?

If they are not visibly worn, there is no reason to change them.
