About a week ago I posted a link to help with electrical problems. It’s a YouTube video done by Motor Age. They actually have several videos dealing with voltage drop and in one of them they demonstrate how to use the voltage drop test to test a solenoid. These videos each over an hour long and go over the same basic information but it helps to watch them all several times. Here is the link
