Leaf spring clamp

Hi all,

Just started to renovate the leaf springs and noticed one of the bolts and associated roller is missing on one of the clamps.

Just wondered if anyone in the UK has an old set of springs that they could remove one of the clamps and sell on to me?

This is a good one for illustration:

Thanks.

Simon.

The factory installation method was to run down the nut tight and then hammer on the threaded end of the screw to mash it out a bit. Which makes them really hard to remove without wrecking or breaking them.

I think the more technical term is peen it over! :grinning:

most ones removed will be rusty, slightly bent, thread damaged etc or in fact all 3
easier enough to machine up new countersunk bolt and roller tube.

Should be an easy fabrication project.

Agreed. Now I’ve had a longer look at it, should be easy. I’ve managed to drill out the peened leftovers and threads are fine. I’ve even got a long 1/4 unf bolt I can machine to fit :+1:
