Hi Chris,
Here was my experience SU fiber washers and banjo bolt tightening.
I always slacken of the bowl lid before nipping up the banjos, so it can rotate to optimal position. I stick with the red fibre washers, but have acquired all sorts of washer colours and materials over time.
