Lets build a 1967 e type together

Damn cottage help…
Anyone have a good hired hand for the retreat house
Hopefully I’ll have pictures at the bungalow soon😀

Ok kids to the left is the 185/70 way to small
Middle are the old Michelin’s xvs 185
To the right is Dunlop 205 70 15
All of these are on 5 inch wheels
I’m leaning towards the middle either in Michelin or vreds
I had 205 for 25 years a tad big but drives like a new car
Do I want that?
Lately 50 and chucking into turns is fun!

universal tire also makes a 185/15

What I do like about the vreds the compound is soft to the touch.
I just looked at my mark 2 and forgot lastmonth I put the exact tire…Im leaning that way. For some reason they seem to give a jag the best of both worlds, looks and size but the ride is really good.

Yeah believe me we are in New York
It’s ALL over here
Lock and load and fix your cars😢

Joey,
Since you’re using the car as a dd and live in New York and plan on touring long distances in all seasons, if I were you I’d check the heated debate in archived threads here about the possible temperature limitations regarding Vreds. Just one example:

I’m not sure which way to come down on this argument but I think I’ll go with the Michelins when I time out in a couple of years.

In my experience, not for long. I find they ride hard after a few seasons.

Thats why Im asking …I couldnt sleep as I had David and Wiggles in front of me with my heater hose…God you guys are ugly in the middle of the night
Anyway, I ordered farm/diesel oil resistant hose . It should do the trick for the return blow pipe.
Anyone else on the tires?
I have to sort out the fan relay with the spal unit, I keep blowing fuses with MY HAYDEN adjustable switch I think the old style unit only goes to 25 amps and these new fans start at 30.
We shall see…

ive decided white walls look nice…who makes a decent one for us

Personally, I like the looks of your middle tire: the left looks too little.

Agree with Wiggles - that is the XVS 15VR asymmetrical. Superb straight line performance and fantastic cornering if you can afford them.

That’s the 18515
That’s what Dave and others were saying
It’s a good compromise if I don’t want 205s this time around
I’m gonna go through tired like pre corona toilet paper so we see
Wigs you kept me up all last night :grinning:

Try the Michelins with 30psi front and 34 psi rear which I find the sweet spot for the 185 VR15. You can drop to 32psi at the rear if you are not carrying luggage.

Riiiiiiight: blame it on the Westerner…:grimacing:

Personally, I don’t think the heater hose breather would be all that much of a problem.

I “temporarily” used some 5/8” heater hose for the breather on my Mustang, and 5 years later, replacing it has never found its way back onto my to-do list, as the heater hose has worked fine.

I’ve had a heater hose breather tube on for 15-20 yrs.
The reports of its death are greatly exaggerated.

I get the soft theory
The pipes are a bit much
Is high pressure fuel line just as good?
I think we are all over thinking a blow by pipe😀

I think, for the purposes, either hose will suffice.

There is this stuff.

That said, my heater hose seems to be holding up quite well in that application.

I’m going back to Autosport tomorrow
They have these Porsche hoses for that purpose
Maybe the German technology will make it faster
Having fun…
Will report back.
