Does anyone know where I can get pistons for a 3.4 ltr plus .030 ,with 9.1 compression.
All manufacturers seem to jump over the +.030 for the 9.1 There are +20 and +40 available.
I have exhausted all the usual suspects.
I needed +.03’s for my rebuild using a mk7 block. From the invoice the part number for the pistons… CP 410 k. I think they came from F.W.Thornton… they have a +0.03 piston listed but standard compression. My be worth a look. No experience yet on the quality… have yet to turn over my engine.
Thanks Scott, I eventually decided to install new rings and bearings, as the 9.1 pistons were not out there anywhere.
If I bored it out to + 40, another 10 thou the 9-1 were available but my bores were fine. Pointless spending another $1000 on pistons and boring only for a few more HP.
smart answer. + 40 isn’t a huge difference anyway.
