Looking for help selling?

Hi all,

I would like to sell my 92 XJS… Have some pics and info posted on another forum: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/market/213128

Any advice? I am not getting any interest locally or on ebay.

Greg . . .
Have you thought about listing it on Bring a Trailer? https://bringatrailer.com/
Take a look at some of the XJS listings there to get a feeling for the effort required.

I did try Bring-A-Trailer but they are very selective now and would not accept a car expected to sell below $10k.

WTH? I thought that’s what BAT was all about!

They were willing to list my car, but only on a no reserve basis.

Well, sheee-it, as my Texan brethren would say: there goes my oppo to sell Margaret on there…:unamused:

If I clicked on that link what would I see? Or, what might happen to my computer?

Sorry for posting the link. You are wise to be careful.

Try anyway. Could be I didn’t present well enough. Others have since been on there sub 10k.

couple of other places to sell come to mind - - Facebook is one and Craig’s List another.
I don’t see it listed on this forum.

I have no idea where in the world you live but if you live in North America you should try contacting your nearest Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA) affiliate club and advertise in their newsletter or on their website. You can find your nearest clubs by looKing on the JCNA website. Many clubs offer free advertising for their members but will also run advertisements for nonmembers for a small fee . Advertising through JCNA clubs will get the attention of Jaguar enthusiasts in your area.

If all goes right I’m going to try the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Florida next Jan

Has anyone noticed that the price of XJS are going up. They are only cheap on the west coast.

No. Haven’t noticed. What XJS models are you looking at that you find particularly expensive?

Convertibles tend to be listed at higher prices this time of year. Wait until the fall, and they come down again.

If I did it on craig I would do cash only no exceptions. They pay and you go to local bank with purchaser to check for counterfeit money before signing title and or car removal

Absolutely I had someone try to scam me when I was selling a truck. I even had to prompt the bank operations manager what to do to check the veracity of the check

Auto Trader Classics, and Hemmings Motor News are good.
