Lost my keys 1972 Jaguar Xke v12

Need new keys for my 1972 Jaguar Xke also where’s the key code located

Dominic, The key codes are recorded in the Jaguar Production book. If you have a Heritage Certificate JDHT will be able to provide that information. Without a Certificate you will have to take each lock apart to find the key number. Three keys: Ignition lock, Door locks and Glove Box/Boot lock.
If you own a OTS then the boot lock nut that holds the handle in place has the number stamped into one of the nut flats. The Glove box number is stamped on the lock. The door locks, the number is stamped on the small pivot arm at the end of the lock.
If you don’t have a Heritage Certificate I recommend getting one. It has helped me over the years with information suck as key numbers.

Happy Trails and Merry Christmas,

Dick

Another note. With the key numbers any competent locksmith can make duplicates.

I get mine off E-bay , £3.50 , no problems so far !

Please update your information to identify if you have an OTS or 2+2 car.
Here’s key/lock data for a Series 3 E-type V12 OTS:

Glove box lock. The key number is stamped on the top of the lock body.

Another view of the lock number.

Boot cable lock. On Series 3 OTS cars the key number is stamped on the hex nut and on the lock barrel itself.

Close up view of the key number stamped on the cable nut.
Note both Glove Box and Boot Cable locks are keyed the same. Door locks are keyed separately as is the ignition key.

Have a Happy New Year and Happy Trails,

Dick
