My 1973 XKE has an old 350 engine that I now want to
replace with a Vortec 350 crate engine from GM. The
original engine was a tight fit vertically and I am worried
about the new one. There are several 1997 Corvette owners
who are complaining that their hoods won’t close with a
conventional air intake. I am able to gain about 1 inch
with a low plenum air intake and .25 of an inch with a
different intake manifold. Does anyone have any experience
with this particular conversion?–
