[Lumps!] Boot Question (trunk lid)

I’ve been redoing the entire trunk area of my 76 XJ6 Lump, I
made new side panels and covered them in vinyl. I’m using
indoor outdoor for the floor of the trunk. So far so good,
I also installed new sound insulation behind the side panels
and ran new wires to add a high 3rd brake light. I also
found this kewl water heater wrap at Home Depot that is a
great insulator. I installed it in behind the side panels.
My question is I looked at the boot lid and notice what
looked to be where a cover of some sort once was. Anyone
have a pic or a spare one for a series 2 XJ6L? I’d like to
put it back if possible.

Thanks

Yes, on both counts, I believe. I just bought a 1977 XJ6L for parts
and will have to get in the trunk to see if it is there. If it is,
it will cost more to ship it to you than the purchase price,
unfortunately. It would be an ‘oversize’ package.

The picture I can take tomorrow, please reply to:

Mark, I looked at my trunk and saw what you were asking about. With
the work you have done ‘in your trunk’ you can surely make your
own. It will look nicer, fit better and be cheaper than anything
you find or buy. It is nothing more than a piece of flat,
cardboard, with a ‘fold’ to seperate the ‘top/horizonal’ part from
the ‘rear/vertical’ part. It is made out of the same 'hard, black
faced cardboard that the sides are made from. I’ll send you some
pics if you want, or stop by and check it out. Bring your car, I
want a ride. Gary–
