[Lumps!] Checking in. Again

Like a bad rash, I’m back again. New email address, but
same project, lumping a 95 caprice LT1 into a 90 XJS
convertible.

I’ve had about three years of really bad luck, which really
impeded my progress. First I burned up my xj6/lt1. Then my
old living feline got run over and died. My younger cat died
of leukemia a few months later. Over the next year, I put
my springer spaniel down, and my dad passed away. Then my
wife became quite sick and eventually died of cancer. Six
months ago I got laid off, and I am still out of work.

All would have been lost, except I managed to hang onto my
pickup, airplane, and bass boat…(hat line is for all you
dark humor fans).

Anyhow, things are looking up these days. I recently got
married to an old family friend who has a good job, and it
looks like I’m getting called back to work with my former
employer. When that happens, I’ll have money to resume work
on my lt1 lump project.

So lately, I’ve been researching why I have no fire in the
hole, which was the problem I was having last time I posted
here. I’ve run some of the tests according to the Helm
manual without success. Today, I visited a nearby speed
shop who does custom work (a la Boyd Coddington on TV),
who’ve agreed to sort things out for me, once I come up with
some money…

Anyhow, that’s the news from Lake WoBeGone. Just thought
I’d say hi to all my old LT1 lumper pals. Nice to see so
many of you around, still.–

Dan:

My sincerest condolences for all the sadness and loss you have
endured.

My hearty congratulations on your marriage and regaining your job.

Yeah, I did wonder how your biger and better lump was coming
along.

I did have my share of ttial and tribulation in getting my LT1 to
fire and pass SMOG. Perserverance and help from here and other
places won. It’s not perfect, but smogs and runs great.

I have my personal issues, but none that are even close to yours.

Welcome back, stronger than ever, huh?
