It’s not that far from me, assuming I was to go check it out (and probably give myself a hernia trying to move it!!!)what casting numbers/other indicators would reveal the ratio and whether or not it’s an LSD?
Thanks,

P.S. Anybody have an idea of what this thing weighs?
Turn the input shaft and see what happens- both hubs
should turn in the same direction if posi. Also, if
it’s posi, there should be a tag on the rear cover
with the letters "PL " on it. Another tag with the
ratio should be there: it’s a combination of 2
numbers-# ring gear teeth/#pinion gear teeth- or 1
number - the ratio itself- should be on the cover.
That’s assuming no one removed them…
It will weigh something in the neighborhood of 300
lbs. The diff alone is 90…
Great price there though- how can you lose for $50.
Good luck

In reply to a message from cadjag sent Sun 6 Jan 2008:
An easy way to tell the ratio is, is to rotate the wheel flange one
full revolution and count how many revolutions the pinion flange
makes. If you put a mark on the pinion flange its easy to tell.
Almost 3 turns of the pinion flange will be a 2.88, about 3 1/4
will be a 3.31 and 3 1/2 will be a 3.54.–
