[Lumps!] Dropping the IRS, gears, brakes and seals

It started today with a steam cleaning at my local car wash. They
have tall ramps to drive onto for the cleaning process.

That will make it easier to start the IRS dropping process. I will
use my pressure washer to clean it all up more when it is out of
the car.

Wil change the gears to the 2:88 locker, new rear calipers, rotors,
pads, plus a new hose and seals. Have two each large/small radius
arm bushing and the (4) Jaguar suspension mounts.

Will start the dropping and rebuilding process tomorrow and hope
that it goes smoothly.–

The whole rear suspension is out of the car now. Taking it all out
is not very hard, but removing the center section with the gears is
fun. Jaguar did an extra special job of mounting things, using
bolts with partial heads to be able to be removed and safety wires
on the important stuff to hold it is place.

It is out now, the whole thing is apart in my driveway waiting for
pressure washer cleaning and painting. Then the reassembly process
will start…with polishing of the pins and lubing everything so
it will work properly for years to come.

It will be easy to get the broken bleeder screw piece out now that
the caliper is out of the car.

Some PO worked on the E brakes in the past and left one tension
spring out of it’s hole. The drivers side brake was dragging all
the time and work out the pads. The brakes for the rear were in
need of new pads and all the lube fittings will be taken care of
while apart. It also looks like I need a new E brake cable or there
is a pulley or something missing as there is way too much slack.

The old rear end was measured and appears to be 3:31’s and it is a
locker. The 2:88 locker has been ready to install for three years
now with the fancy polished aluminum cover.

I had been having a strange vibration at times and I hope it was
caused by the rear yoke bolts being loose on the driveshaft.–

If they were already loose, that was probably causing the
vibration. Post some pictures when you get a minute!–
