Mark IV gas pedal

I have been trying to find the rubber cover for the gas pedal in my Mark IV. The pedal is very small and Worchester Spares only has the larger variety.

Dennis

Are you sure there was one?
Clutch and brake, yes, but nothing listed for the accelerator.

Mine has grooves in the metal and they are very worn down, as if there never was a pad.

Hello Rob,
My gas pedal is much smaller. It is about 1.5 by 2 inches. Any ideas would be helpful.

Whereas with the brake and clutch pedal where you want grip on the pedal the accelerator pedal should slide over the sole of your shoe to avoid jerky changes. No rubber was fitted.

Hello Frank,

That looks like the foot for my gas pedal. Now, the question is, is there a rubber cover that goes on the metal shoe?

Ahh, you didn’t say you had a LHD.
It did have a pad. But maybe they mean the metal piece.

Hello Dennis,
I’m pretty sure there was no rubber cover on the gas pedal, herewith foto’s of my car when I bought it, and foto of an other car, both whiteout rubbers

Hello Frank,

I think you may be right. I have 2 Mark IVs and neither has a rubber cover. The good news is that the car is running for the first time since 1960 and I am now sorting out these smaller details.

Regards,

Dennis
