Minimum garage size

My old little league coach in Indiana had something very similar. He was a freelance toolmaker. The auctioneer who handled the sale said when he first went down into the basement he knew what it felt like to be the first to see King Tut’s tomb.

Hell, that’s HALF my pants size … give or take an inch. Damn, why AM I cramming myself into my XJSes vs. sticking with saloons?

Geez, Ballzer … are you a professional architect or something? Very nice job on those … :+1: Can I maybe have Superblack towed to your place and leave her there for a few weeks while you work on her?

I was gonna say, isn’t your place close to his, Wiggler?

Well, AttyDall, if you consider 85 miles away “close by.”

:grimacing:

Heck, here, yep. Although motorman is less distance than that between his location and mine … but then that’s on the far side of the Metroplex area from me, which makes it seem like might as well be driving to the Moon or something to ever go see him, AFAIC … :frowning:

Would be nice to at least know one other XJS owner somewhere near me … I was checking C.L. to see if there are any currently for sale in the DFW metro area (7M+ population, btw), and was stunned to see NONE listed. :open_mouth: Alternatively, I then checked X-300 sellers and there was just ONE, and that car was actually about 30 miles north of the DFW metro area. wth??? Oh, I have posted before my lament about “wither Jaguar?” and seems that trend is just continuing …

85 is just a number.
No distance is too great to travel to visit a friend (or enjoy Thanksgiving dinner)
I was travelled from Boston to Seattle to be Best Man at a friends wedding

Totally agree! I’ll get down soon, with decor.

Counselor – you are welcome any time. I’ll leave the lights on for ya.
The lift may be occupied – it is central to my restoration plans on my 72 E-Type OTS. But floor jacks and jack stands are in reserve.
After all, 725 miles is just a number.
I have offered my place as a rest stop on the next Oil Leaker Tour.

Not an architect – just a long-time, every-day visitor to garagejournal.com I learned a lot of what to do and not do from posters there (13 years a Defense Contractor in AFG gave me some time to cogitate). I also attempted a Vulcan mind-meld with Wiggie on several occasions. Having disavowed my membership in Architect Living, check out the 4-foot wide staircase to the loft – the lift was installed today.

Is that where the mini fridge, stocked with little tiny bottles of booze, will be put?

:grimacing:

Nope - that set of yellow shelves under the stairs the will host the microwave.

The full sized fridge will sit against this wall beside the “combi” boiler (it heats both domestic water and the gycol in the in-floor heating tubes); this is the exterior south wall of the bathroom – see photo.

Careful scrutiny of the wall reveals the access panel to the manifold controls for the in-floor heating tubes

This is exactly my wife’s fear. She’s locked down in the UK, so I’m making the purchase decision. She has recruited some of her female friends to escort me on house viewings, and report directly back to her.

Having that heated floor will be the wisest decision you ever made!

My wife, when in desperation, says the next house we get will have no garage.

Will you miss her a lot?

I did some measuring on my XJ-S coupe. You need 13 feet 6 inches in width to open both doors simultaneously.

My garage its a little tight

The 7 and 13 formula?
