MK2 Jaguar , New York Motor Show

I remember years back seeing a MK2 Jaguar , in white paint , with full white interior , including the steering wheel,it was at a very low price as it needed restoring, could it have been the motor show car ?
The show car was dismantled and sold on as a normal MK2 !
I have never come across another MK2 with a white steering wheel ,
How cool would it be now , to do a replica of the show car , in White and gold

Someone has re-created one. It was auctioned off at Bonhams not too long ago. I snagged an image of the on-line auction catalog as I found such an effort quite ambitious!

Back in the late 70’s or early 80’s I bought a parts car 140 cp. from a woman in New Jersey and she also had a white MK2 for sale also. I already had a MK2, so I wasn’t interested but I looked at it anyway. It was white with a white interior and all the wood had a very light, almost blonde veneer. It had a lot of extras like reclining seats, crank-up antenna, 4sp/od, 3.8 engine, foglights, heated rear glass, Wabaso roof, w/w, etc. I figured someone had a few extra bucks to buy one to special order.
