MKII foglights problems

Hello everybody, I’m new here as is my MKII 3.8 '64 in my garage. This is a recent purchased car and I’m exploring it. It has been restored by previous owner and looks very beautiful but that’s it, much work to do.
My question:
If I want to switch on the foglights, all other lights FWD extinguish except the standlights ( white, not the little red ones on top ) which light very very weak.
Can this be a problem with the lightswitch? Or a bad earth somewhere? Anybody out there who experienced the same or can explain me in what direction I have to look to find the culprit?

Thank you all in advance for your willing cooperation.

Phil

Standard operation, this was for English Fog (the real stuff) the last thing you wanted in a pea souper was the headlights shining glare back from the water droplets.

On the same topic (fog lights)
I had to cut mine off the car , as the nut’s where rusted solid , found threaded tube was just the job to replace the bit I cut off, cut to size and 2 nuts and washers to hold it to the light !
Only a small cost off e-bay !

No pictures but this is the lights fitted !
