MkV air filter box

I am searching for an air filter/silencer for my fathers mk5 3,5 saloon which has been missing since many years. I have found one from an early mk7 but I am not sure if it is the same although it looks similar. Does anyone know if it would fit the MkV?

Hi Svante,

Nope, it’s very different. Also on the MKV the 2 1/2 Litre is different as the rocker cover has no breather.

If you are in Sweden yoy may find one locally or I have an extra 3 1/2 Litre MKV ”air silencer” box aka air filter that needs a bit restoring but is complete and is in Helsinki, Finland. PM me if interested.

The distance between carbs is different on Mark VII.
This is a Mark V 3.5 L air filter and plenum.
