While perusing some MKVII catalogs, I noticed that for some countries Jaguar had an oil bath filter.
Anybody have pictures they could post, I’m looking to purchase one?
Is this the one with steel mesh soaked with oil? That type is similar to the pan cake type hung directly on SUs some times but it is a long can similar to the normal felt filter type.
Not sure.
Looking to replace the cannon style unit as I’m not a fan of the original.
I’ve an oil bath unit on my MKII that I like. It’s supposed to be cleaned with mineral spirits which are harder to come by these days. The oil bathed units definitely do a better job than the dry paper element.
Just checked a Mk7 parts book. The oil bath type is a 3rd type, not the
one I suggested.(C6651). I usually saw C4803 on most cars. Never saw the
oil bath type C5148.
