[modern] BFM question

Hi all:
I have had a recurring problem with my left rear blinker. I pulled
the BFM out a few months ago and resolderd it as I had the age old
problem with the fault on the dash. I would periodically get the Fault
when I had the right turn signal on and applied the brakes. When this
happened I would also get the rapid blinking. I had checked for burned
out bulbs and found none.
After I resolderd the connections and reinstalled the module I had
problems with the not lights working. I went over the contacts with WD40
and finally got everything working again. One problem however is that
the fault still appears. I can push the clear button and it will go away
and I not longer get the fault when I apply the brakes. I still get the
rapid blinking however on the right side when I put on the blinkers.
Tonight I noticed from a reflection from another car in my rear view
mirror that when I apply the brakes with the right turn signal on the
right rear blinker does not work although the brake light does go on.
When I take my foot off of the brake it does. All lights are working and
the right rear blinker also works although inside the car I get the
rapid flashing and the dash signal blinkes fast. When I apply the hazard
lights they all blink fast on the inside but the outside lights do not
blink fast…
Can someone tell me if I need to go over the module again, or is it
a problem with the connections somewhere. This seems to be the only
problem I have , but it is very annoying.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi All!

Does anyone know the name of the genius that came up with the
idea of having BFMs in Jaguars ? Is he still working for Jaguar ?

Is the BF in BFM the same as in BFD?

Just Curious,

JT

Jukka:
No I just assumed that the problem would be in the one located on the
side that was not working

Have you checked also reverse lights and fog lights? And if you found
a bad solderings on one BFM then i guess you can find bad soldering
