[modern] Door lock Heaters

Someone mentioned door lock heaters…how are they activated and what years
had them?

Thanks
Tom Jankovsky

Tom,

They are activated by holding up one of the front door handles. I had
thought
they would not work if the temperature was above a certain level but that is
not confirmed by the wiring diagrams. There is some sort of a thermostat on
each door lock, though.

Also, holding up either front door handle will enable the heater in BOTH
front door locks.-

Hi!

I read in my manual about the doorlock heaters, I do not know if my vehicle
is equipped with
it since the manual says “where available”. I have been looking in the fuse
compartments without
success, it doesnt mention it at all and I can not see any free space for
a fuse for it either.

So, how can I find out ?

Best regards,

Daniel

Daniel,

I guess you would have to open up a front door and check the lock itself.
Power derives from fuse #10 on the right side fusebox (US SPEC).-
